So, not blogging for a week has given me a LOT to talk about, but its too much to write so I’ve just decided to re-cap.
I can’t believe that September is over! It feels like yesterday that we had out labor day weekend camping trip and now here we are entering October. This month was a turning point for me… for a lot of reasons. 2 of my co-workers are now gone and I’ve been given a promotion of sorts. By that, I mean that because there is no one else in my department I’m kind of in charge of everything that might go wrong, lol.
I feel like I’m at war with God sometimes. Here I was almost 7 months ago thinking that what I really needed was to relinquish control, get a no-brainer job, quit chasing the challenges and focus on my loved ones. Then out of no where my dream job appears. Not only does it appear, but God steers me into it with me kicking and screaming the whole way telling Him that this was NOT what I needed. Then I begin the job and (of course) love it… but I am determined to stay behind the scenes. Then God removes every possible road block between me and some sort of leadership role and BAM! Here I am, once again feeling the rush of the challenge and loving it.
But getting back to my September recap: Noahs awesome birthday party(which I blogged about) was a blast, I jogged 2 km and didnt die, hung out more with my cousin Jay, got more involved in my church and of course… The food festival (otherwise referred to as Paulines birthday party, lol).
That was last weekend. We all had a really great time and I was able to snatch some pics and post them here. It was the usual crowd in the usual scene with of course the most UN-usual circumstances. I got to spend it hanging out with Desiree, Pauline and Sherry, 3 people I never get to see enough of and when the rain hit, Greg and I took full advantage of no line-ups to go stuff our faces 🙂 All the other wusses squeezed under the pavillion but we were out there and that poutine was SO worth it! Of course, I was waterlogged after that but it was awesome anyway.
Then on Sunday Jay and I had our ‘fun-day’. We went to the flea market where we found the most amazing rocking chair for my mom, and spent like 20 minutes trying to get it into the car. Then some old guy came over and just adjusted it to the side a little and it slid in within a few seconds. Nothing like adding a little maturity to the mix, something Jay and I severly lack when we hang out. After that we went to the falls and played tourists, and I posted some pics of that as well.
So, all in all – I have to say I’m looking forward to October. Dee and I are planning a Muskoka excursion so we can eat at some fancy restaurant I found online, Jakes birthday is coming up (you will LOVE what I got you!), Sarahs birthday is also coming up but I already gave her her present and of course – we have Thanksgiving, Halloween, my parents 30th anniversary and a little surprise <wiggling eyebrows> happening this weekend that I cant blog about until Sunday night… but man, will it EVER be a blog worthy day!
