Moving Forward

Yesterday I went and put flowers on Rocky’s grave.  I know I’m silly, but I miss that dog – its just not the same without him.
So, needless to say – I didnt spend a lot of time at home this weekend.  It worked out because my dad was in Timmins visiting relatives so my mom didnt want to be alone either.  With her missing dad and me missing rocky it was nice to have becky rounding out our trio this weekend.  She has a way of keeping your mind off things.
On Saturday night the 3 of us settled in our pjs in the living room to watch movies.  Becky and i passed out in a heap on the couch about an hour later and mom carried bex into her room. She then woke me up and told me to go to bed so naturally I headed into her room as well and curled up beside becky on dads side of the bed.  I have a vague memory of mom tucking us in and kissing our foreheads and my last thought before passing out was "I’m almost 30, this should be weird…"
The next morning, the only chipper one was Becky.  Mom doesnt sleep well without dad and I apparently dont sleep well with sweaty 7 year olds suffocating me.  Mom said bex was a spreader, what she didnt tell me was that she becomes an octopus.  My whole left side ached all day from having her laying on top of me all night – she’s a cutie though, you gotta give her that.
After coffee and breakfast we went our seperate ways for a bit and then later they came to my place for coffee.  We then left and went to home depot and zhers and then off to a chinese restaurant for dinner.
Finally, mom and I acknowledged that we hate being alone 🙂  After a leisurly dinner we went our seperate ways but it was a really nice weekend.  Its been a long time since mom and I could just hang out together without having to rush anywhere.

I use food to show love, I make things because it helps me connect to my inner self, and I use social media because it's how I connect to other like-minded people. My life happens between the kitchen, the craft room and the gardens. This blog is where I keep track, work it out, and share my ideas. Feel free to share your thoughts back with me!

  1. you’re right.  that really should have been weird.  it was weird for me to just get the mental images.
i’ll admit that i’m a little envious though; i sure wish i lived closer sometimes.  maybe then becky would still be excited when i phoned and would actually want to talk to me!
