Sorry Jake, you have to forgive me… There’s just too much and I have to say something!
For Christmas, Melissa and Nathan got me a cat. Although I miss Rocky like crazy its kind of nice to have something else moving around the apartment so I’m not going to complain. About the gift at least… other things though…
To begin with, she is a compulsive flopper. She follows me around like a shadow and as soon as I stop and glare down at her for getting in my way she flops onto her back and sticks her paws in the air. EVERYTIME! You guys have to remember how old Rocky was and that fact that he couldnt get up or lay down without a big ceremony because of his hips. SO, everytime I see her do that, my first instinct is to help her get back up… this leads to petting, and she knows it. Therefore, she’s playing me.
Next complaint is that she has 2 toy mice. She is constantly shooting them across the floor and chasing after them. This I can live with – even though they have little bells on them and the noise is pretty annoying. However, she has started trying to bring her toys to bed with us at night and I absolutely cant stand it! Ugh!
She also drinks out of the toilet. I’ve tried to break her of this habit by keeping her water dish full and the toilet seat down. Her response was to sit on the bathroom sink and meow and the toilet until I lifted the lid. Eventually I caved, and then… just to prove to me that she could handle a toilet – she jumped onto the seat, reached up and flushed the toilet with her paw and then took a drink of fresh water.
I was amazed.
Surrounding all of that, she eats constantly, tries to sleep either across my throat or on top of my head and last night when I was laying in the bath tub reading (Chapter 1 Franky, you were right) she sat on the edge of the tub, splashed me with her paw, then drank some of my bath water and finished up by craning her neck and attempting to take a bite out of Frankys book (no worries bear, I saved it).
I also found a bunch of little things that have been missing under my bed last night when I was cleaning. I tried to give her a stern talking too, but heck… there was a toy mouse to chase.
Okay, done venting now 🙂
