I can’t stop yawning.
It seems that getting a decent nights sleep will be the challenge for 2007. Sunday night I didnt get to sleep until after 1am because my internal clock was all screwed up from a week and a half of holidays. Monday night I was all set to to go bed early but then I ended up going out with mom and we had coffee at 9pm. As a result, I didnt get to sleep until after 1am again. The late nights wouldnt be so bad except I’m at work by 7-7:30 in the morning. That means I have to get up at 5:45 so I have time to shower, caffienate myself and get dressed.
Then – Tuesday night was going to be my early night. Only problem is that at 10pm when I was shutting off my lights and locking my doors I heard the ominous crunching of a little mouse loose in my kitchen. It wasnt just me either – the cat heard it too.
I opened the cupboard doors and left the mouse at the mercy of my psyco kitty and went to bed. I was a little afraid to go to sleep – visions of mice running around in my food and the very real threat that if Muffin caught it she would try to bring it to bed like she does her toys, were jumping in and out of my head like crazy. However, 2 short nights caught up with me and I passed out soon enough. Then at 3am, I was awakened by the deafening crash of a cat and mouse chase through my pots and pans.
I stormed into the kitchen and reaching into the cupboard I grabbed Muffin by the scruff of the neck and pulled her out while I slammed the doors closed. It took a while for the adrenaline to wear off so by 5:45am I was once again slapping at my alarm clock with sandpaper eyes and a foggy brain.
Then last night I went to bed at 10pm. I probably fell asleep around 11pm but the cat kept laying on top of my head so I woke up a few times to throw her off.
Tonight I may actually take some good advice I was recently given and just shut my bedroom door with her on the other side of it.
