Holiday Update.

Last week I took my first official holiday of the season and went camping again – This time to the Pinery, and it was just Greg and I. We had a really large campsite with lots of trees and were pretty close to the beach and washrooms. I had never been to the Pinery before so I was amazed at how big that place is; The second day we were there we rented bikes and rode all through the forest trails, yet we just barely covered one small area! I could see myself camping there at least 5 more times before I feel like I’ve seen everything that place has to offer 🙂  We also had an incident where raccoons broke into our snack container at 2am. The container had chips, granola bars, marshmallows, graham crackers, cookies and a bunch of banana’s (about 4). The raccoons only took 1 bag of cookies and 2 bananas though  – so at least they werent greedy 😛 I still maintain that they were the size of german shepherds… why wont anyone believe me 😦
We camped for a few days and then I headed back home for St. Catharines. I had a nice visit with dad, then went to Sarah and Frankys and picked up Noah for a bit. Noah and I unpacked my car and hung out (I taught him magic tricks with playing cards) and then I took him back to Sarah’s. Desiree and I met up at home and walked down to Boston Pizza for dinner on the patio and some r&r and then after we went home we went out into the yard and played ‘velcro-catch’ until it got dark.
On Sunday, my friend Natasha came over and we went to my church, then headed out to Fort Erie to go to Crystal Beach. The beach was packed (awesome!) and we threw the beach blanket out and settled in for a few hours of sun. We had a picnic, tanned, slept, read, and swam. We also played ‘velcro-catch’ in the water and Tasha made friends with some hairy mexicans 😛  We also treated the drive there and back as a road trip, so along the way we stopped at the chocolateers, the Niagara Gorge, and Queenston Heights Park, as well as 2 Tim Hortons 😀
By Sunday night I was well rested, sun-baked and sand-gritty 🙂  I took a long hot shower, made a nice dinner and went to bed with happy dreams of work in my head. My next vacation is in 5 more weeks – Desert Lake with the family.  I cant wait!
