Thank you, Sisters.

Today was a really frustrating day at the work, the kind of day that makes you really question your chosen career – so when I left the office all I wanted to do was go home, lay on the couch and put the world away. The kink in that plan was that my sister Pauline had already invited me for dinner, and I had an appointment at the spa for a pedicure at 7:15 – a gift that had been given to me almost 5 months ago from my sister Joan for my birthday.
When I got to Paulines, I was really surprised to find that she had made us a fancy little dinner 🙂  It was a sauce of chicken, shrimp and scallops with diced veggies in a white wine sauce over top of penne noodles, and toasted garlic bread. We sat on the couch and ate and talked about the wedding and slowly my mind eased off of work and I started to relax.  After dinner we sat for about another hour and played with Rilynn while we talked and before I knew it, it was time to head to the mall.
Feeling well fed and slightly more "together", I arrived at the spa in the mall for my pedicure. I have to say – it was the best pedicure ever! She was so gentle, and the spa was so quiet. The water was the perfect temperature, the music was so relaxing… everything was awesome. She didnt talk at all during my entire treatment (which was over an hour long!) so I was able to lounge in the chair and read my Canadian Living magazine cover to cover, a luxury I havent had in a long time.
When it was over I paid with my gift card and as I walked out to my car I was amazed at how totally happy and relaxed I felt. So, after having such a horrid day, it was 2 of my sisters who made it all better, and they didnt even realize it 🙂
Thanks guys 😀

I use food to show love, I make things because it helps me connect to my inner self, and I use social media because it's how I connect to other like-minded people. My life happens between the kitchen, the craft room and the gardens. This blog is where I keep track, work it out, and share my ideas. Feel free to share your thoughts back with me!

  1. oh gee… you’re so welcome, sister.   don’t worry about your frustrating day at work– soon you’ll be a house wife and you can just play video games and eat cake all day.   just to let you know though, once you throw kids into the mix you’ll actually have to do WORK, and the relaxing part of being a housewife will be gone.
