Well, the past 2 weeks have been a whirlwind! Mom is doing much better but still having a lot of tests run. She’s back to being her usual spunky-self but still cant drive so she’s a little grounded. On Wednesday night we did our usual date night except I picked her and the kids up instead of meeting them in town. The kids were deposited at AWANA
and mom and I headed to Starbucks and Walmart. It was a nice time, we browsed fabrics, yarns and craft supplies while we sipped honey-lattes and chatted and before we knew it was time to get the kids and head home.
As things have returned to normal, Greg and I have resumed our incredibly crazy schedule as well! Friday night he came here with his kids and we had dinner, watched a movie and made chin puppets. On Saturday morning we headed out bright and early to the Sugar Bush and had pancakes and maple syrup for breakfast, and then loaded into the car and headed to Toronto to go to the Royal Ontario Museum
(ROM). We spent the whole day looking at the dinosaur exhibit, the ancient egyptian exhibits and various others. There is so much to see there, its amazing. I cant wait to go again! We stopped in Burlington where I collected my vehicle and we parted ways, them back to London and me back to St. Catharines.
I got home just in time to go to the knitting party at Sarahs house 🙂 We were short 3 sisters for this one but that didnt stop us from making way too much food or pulling out our woven projects. Even Becky made a snack this time! Pauline also learned to cope with our knitting parties by announcing that knitting isnt for her, and then whipping out her scrapbooking kit. Whatever works I guess 😀
The next day I went to church and it was a really great service on the characteristics of a Christian. Its really stayed with me this week and I love that. After church I picked up my niece Rilynn and we grabbed some pizza’s and headed to mom and dads. We had lunch all together and then Bex, Rilynn and I went for a hike through the snow to the woods. After the 2 of us left we went to my place where Ry played with the animals and we watched a little bit of ‘Finding Nemo’. I took her home around 6pm where I had dinner with Greg and Pauline and then went home to crash 🙂
On Tuesday night, I went and had dinner with Greg in London, and then on Wednesday I took a much needed day off and spent the day running errands, helping out and yes… I finally got my wedding gown. Its gorgeous.
In and around all of that, I’ve baked a batch of apple muffins, some shortbread cookies, a dozen lemon tarts, a cherry pie and a container full of miniature pizzas.
I also put Snuggle Bunny up for adoption, a task I was putting off until closer to the wedding. I posted her on kijiji (see the ad)
and got responses immediately, but everyone wanted her for their kids. Then I posted her on facebook and within 5 minutes she was adopted by a girl who I went to school with. She’s a total animal lover and care-giver, and will be taking Snuggle Bunny home with her on Monday.
I’ll miss my bunny, and her cute little way of grunting at everything and spontaneous binkys. I’m glad she’s going to a good home though. I guess it’ll be just me and Muffin again 🙂
