My niece Rilynn is beyond adorable. At 3 years old she’s smaller than most kids her age making her appear almost elfin and she has such an exhuberance about her that every moment is an adventure. Pauline and Greg moved this weekend so last night I offered to pick up Rilynn and take her out for a bit… you know, just to let them unpack and get settled a bit. When I arrived, Rilynn was standing near the door in her little spring coat waiting for me and after a few moments of hashing out the plan with Pauline we were off for our little evening together.
We stopped at the bank then went to McDonalds for dinner where we sat by the window and cuddled over french fries. She’s a very affectionate little girl and in between bites of her grilled cheese she would lay her head on my chest, wrap her arms around me and talk about toys a mile a minute. After we left there we went to the mall and shopped for sandles and sunglasses for her. She chose the cutest little jewelled thong sandals and pink sunglasses, and while I was paying for them she sat in her little car (the mall rents out shopping carts in the shape of automobiles) and jabbered on about her broken fingernail and her ronald mcdonald bandaid 🙂 On our trip around the mall I got distracted by a sale and allowed Rilynn to pick out a necklace, earrings and a purse for me – it was special 😀 I returned her shopping "car" and we exited the mall on foot, both carrying our shopping bags and both wearing sunglasses. She’s becoming my mini-me, and it totally melts my heart 🙂
The evening was going so well that we picked up 2 icecream cones and went back to her house where we sat in her playroom at her Dora table and once again – talked about toys. When it was time for me to leave I asked for a kiss good-bye and she obliged. Then she told me she was going to kiss me to stay and gave me 2 more kisses and a hug. It was hard to resist but I really had to go, but I was so beyond in love with her as I left 🙂
Below is a really short video, but I love it because it shows off her cuteness. I know, I know… I’m an obsessed Aunty.
