Welcome 2009.

I’m glad the holidays are over. By the end of it, I was worn out… but I kept true to my word and focussed on Christ throughout the season!

2008 was one of the most eventful years of my life. I got engaged and I got married. I moved 2 hours away from my family and became a step-mother to 2 girls (albeit part time). I took on some new hobbies (like cake decorating) and ran an 8km race. I went to Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard, went whale watching in the atlantic ocean and became a member of a new church. I also made the incredibly scary decision to quit my job instead of riding it out until they closed, and that resulted in me spending the last few months of 2008 doing some volunteer work, reflection and perfecting my wife-skills :).

In light of all the craziness of the past year, my new years resolutions for 2009 were pretty simple; Be more worshipful, settle into a career that is emotionally rewarding and work on making my new life fit just as well as the old one did. Happy New Year :D.

I use food to show love, I make things because it helps me connect to my inner self, and I use social media because it's how I connect to other like-minded people. My life happens between the kitchen, the craft room and the gardens. This blog is where I keep track, work it out, and share my ideas. Feel free to share your thoughts back with me!
